A greater diversity of spaces has opended up worldwide for the making and display of site-specific art made outside the contextualising space of the gallery. Judith Rugg takes up a range of temporary site-specific artworks internationally located in China, France, Poland, Panama, Argentina, Canada, the UK and the US to explore the relationships between site-specific art and space set within their gloabalising contexts. She engages with spatial issues pertinent to our times including those of the environment, cultural identity and belonging, experiences of displacement, migration and marginalisation and effects of urbanisation and tourism.
