Traffic accident now at third rank as cause of death after HIV/AIDS and TBC. Indonesian riders have been getting attention in accident cases which dominated by two-wheels vehicle’s riders. The majority of victims and accident are caused by students The safety riding behavior is the effort to minimize the risk of traffic accident as well as for the rider and to others. Adolescents need support from their evironment, especially family. Family are the first social agent who build their character and behavior. This study examined the impact of the social support from adolescent’s family to their safety riding behavior. The samples of this research are 387 adolescents motorcycle rider domiciled in Depok and at the age of 13 – 18 years old. Sampling technique in this study is accidental sampling. All data was collected by Likert scale from family’s social support scale and safety riding behavior scale. Data was analyzed by the simple linear regression. The result shows that there is an impact of family’s social
support towards safety riding behavior on adolescents in Depok with F=242,168 (sig: 0,000) and B=25,282. Family’s social support contributed for 38,6% towards safety riding behavior on adolescents, the rest 61,4% affected by other factors. For further research, adding another variable such as attitude, knowledge, safety riding practice, or other variable are suggested.
Furthermore, using an available safety riding behavior intension instrument is suggested to see subject’s behavior by their intensities.
